Matthew Waxman is a Senior Tax Associate at Spina & Co with experience serving clients in industries including real estate investment, private equity, natural gas distribution, technology start-ups, and food service/hospitality.

Matthew has also worked on a variety of planning engagements for high-net-worth individuals with complex needs. Before coming to Spina & Co, Matthew worked at Gray, Gray, & Gray LLP, an independent, Boston based accounting and advisory firm. At Gray, Matthew trained under partners with experience from world-class firms such as Deloitte, EY, and RSM.

Prior to Gray, Gray & Gray, Matthew worked at State Street Bank and Trust in their securities valuation division, where his team served some of the world’s largest institutional investors. Before he began his career in accounting and financial services, Matthew had a nearly 10-year career working in some of Boston’s best bakeries and restaurants.

His deep love of the restaurant industry still guides his passion for working with small business owners today. Matthew graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a BA in Philosophy. He is currently a Master of Science in Accountancy candidate at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
